Azelex Cream (azalaic acid) - How to cure acne using Azelex?

Azelex or azalaic acid, a cream used for acne, has the side effect of lightening blotchy brown pigmentation or brown spots on the skin.

It works like Retin-A in that it blocks the transfer of pigment granules from pigment cells to skin cells. It helps reduce pigmentation, but does not eliminate it.

Azalaic acid can be used with bleaching creams, Retin-A cream, the antiwrinkle cream Renova, kogic acid, or superficial chemical peels.

In such combinations, azalaic acid becomes more effective in reducing blotchy brown pigmentation, skin discoloration (such as melasma), sun freckles, or brown pigmentation remaining after a rash.
