What is Gothic Makeup?

The gothic style of makeup is a strong style of makeup having dramatic overtures. Gothic makeup uses thick and black makeup style and use bold colors. There is nothing subtle about gothic makeup. In consists of all the normal makeup items like foundation, lipstick, eye shadows, eye liners, etc. the most important component of gothic makeup is the eyeliner.

How to apply gothic makeup?

There is a Gothic sub-culture and it is different from the normal society in that it has powerful and influential makeup showcasing a dominant style of makeup. You can try gothic makeup, but it is not easy. The gothic makeup uses a pale foundation as a base for the makeup. Eyeliners hold an important lace in gothic makeup. The most commonly used eyeliner in Gothic makeup is black. The eyeliner is applied in such a way that it gives a sharper look. It gives a pointy flare to the eyes which can be got through by making the corner of the eye go upwards or downwards in a point fashion. You have to match the pale skin with the lipstick. The most common color of lipstick used in gothic makeup is red or dark black.

The gothic makeup is mostly of eye makeup with thick black line around the eyes and dark eye shadow. Now there is change in this style also and you can find glitter, colors and designs. You can create designs with the eyeliner. You can use a pencil eye liner dipped in matching eye shadow. You can line your bottom and top lids in different colors. You can create designs at the edge of the eyes with the help of eyeliner, like small wing or any other small dragon design.

Who should apply gothic makeup?

Those who want to apply gothic makeup should also be able to carry it well. It has a very dramatic style and your personality should match them makeup. If you use gothic eye makeup in black color, it will make your eyes look smaller so if you already have small eyes, they will look smaller. If dramatic is your style, then you are perfect for it.
