Comedo -comedo extractor

Comedo are the small plug like secretion which stops the secretion from the pores in case of acne. These plugs acts as the prominent source for the infection which acne brings along with it. The whole process of its formation is explained below.

Acne is a skin disorder most often seen in adolescents. However, adult acne is not uncommon. The most common cause of acne is oily skin. Acne occurs in the sebaceous glands (oil glands) and the hair folicles to which they are attached. The oil from the sebaceous glands, along with dead skin cells, plug up the opening of the sebaceous glands and the hair follicles.

This plug is called a comedo. When bacteraia settle in thes plugs, they can cause a severe inflammatory reaction, resulting in more severe acne. The folicle becomes inflammed, forming pimples and pus-filled nodules. The milder forms of acne cane be treated with over-the counter drugs like benzoyl peroxide. However, severe cases of acne must be treated by a dermatologist.
