Eyebrow Threading Instructions & Tips for eyebrows threading salon

History of Threading Eyebrows

The skill of threading is very old. History of threading takes you to its origin which is ambiguous, with some claiming that it began in the Middle East, India, or China. Traditionally, threading is used on the entire face, including upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns and cheeks. You can also find certain old paper clips of Chinese amahs threading brows and faces in old Chinatown. Eyebrow threading originates from India and is probably the only way that eyebrows are shaped there. It involves the beautician or whoever is performing the threading to make a loop with a thread and twirl it a couple of times.

What is Threading of Eyebrows?

Threading EyebrowThreading is a hair removal technique that uses a cotton thread. The 100% cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin entwining the hairs in the thread, which are then lifted out from the follicle. It is said to be more precise than waxing. Threading of Eyebrows as the name implies, removal and cleanup of unwanted growth of eyebrow hairs.

The sensation of threading usually takes 1-2 times to get used to, but people say it hurts less than waxing. Many say it doesn't hurt at all. Eyebrow threading can be used to eliminate a unibrow, raise the arch of the eyebrow, or add shape and definition to the brow. Because it removes hair by the follicle, it is a reasonably long lasting hair removal technique as well.

Threading of eyebrow as compared to waxing, tweezing, and razors?

Waxing tends to burn, peel, and irritate the skin, especially the skin around the eyes. In addition, repeated waxing increases the chances of wrinkles, especially around the sensitive eye area. Threading is more effective and less painful than tweezing; hair re-growth becomes finer and more sparse after regular treatments; and the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized in the process. Threading is highly recommended and an excellent option for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, and similar products.

Tweezing and razors increase the chances of in-grown hairs and cutting the skin. Waxing, tweezing, and razors all make facial hair grow back thicker and faster.  Threading is more precise and the hair grows back thinner and slower; there is also no burning, peeling, or irritation, and is good for getting rid of in-grown hairs.

How often one require eyebrow threading?

Threading eyebrows at home are the two most common methods used by women of all age. It varies from person to person but for eyebrows, usually every 2-3 weeks.
