Monilial Intertrigo
Monilial Intertrigo affects flexures, particularly under breasts, the perineum, the groins, the natal cleft and the axillae. The typical lesions consist of moist, smooth, red patches with overhanging edges of white, sodden epidermis.
There may be vesiculation, pustulation or squamous lesions. Exudation is mild. Base is macerated and densely covered with a whitish coat. Sometimes cracks or fissures may be seen. Lesions spread peripherally either as erythematous spots or patches.
Differential diagnosis of Monilial Intertrigo
Differential diagnosis is from flexural eczema, tinea, intertrigo, erythrasma and Hailey Hailey disease.
